Kauai Vacation Activities
Some of the many vacation activities on Kauai include:
Golf - At one of the eight
courses on the island. Choose the inexpensive county owned course just five minutes away or one of four world
class championship courses on the island.
Swimming - At one of the many
spectacular Kauai beaches or at one of the five pools within 100 yards of your condo
Tennis - At one of the four
lighted courts at Kauai Beach Villas. Just a five minute walk from your condo
Walking - Try an early morning stroll
on the beach right in front of the condo. You can walk in either direction for miles
Whale, Dolphin, Monk Seal
and Hawaiian Sea Turtle watching - From your lanai or on one of the many charter sailing tours. Another great
place to see all of the above is Queen's Bath in Princeville.
Don't forget your binoculars (Note - Whales are usually in
Hawaiian water from December through April)
Sailing - Rent your own sailboat
just 10 minutes away at the Marriott or take one of the charter tour boats to the Napali Coast
Kayaking - Just 10 minutes away
on the calm Wailua river, or go all out on the blue Pacific to the Napali Coast
Scuba Diving - Try a free introductory lesson
at the pool next door or sign up for an ocean dive with one of the
many dive companies
Snorkeling - Just five minutes away,
Lydgate Park features a protected area for kids and beginners with thousands of beautiful tropical fish
Water Skiing - Just 10 minutes away
on the calm Wailua river
Luau - Attend an outdoor luau
at the resort next door every Monday night or one of the other three major luau's
on the island all within a 10 minute drive
Hiking - Choose one of over 70
documented trails on the island. A favorite is the Awaawapuhi Trail for
a breathtaking view of the Napali Coast. (Note - The Awaawapuhi Trail is rated as moderately strenuous,
six miles)
Board surfing - Watch the locals
from your lanai or choose one of the other outstanding beaches on Kauai
Fishing - fresh water -
There are several big reservoirs nearby with lots of big mouth bass
Fishing - deep sea -
Choose from one of the many charter boat operators at Nawiliwili Harbor, just 10 minutes away
Boogie Boarding - Lots of fun
and if you don't know how, it's easy to learn
Wind Surfing - Choose one of several
Kauai beaches known for excellent windsurfing. Several outfitters
rent equipment and provide instruction
Bicycling - From the top
of Waimea Canyon road to the bottom, it's all downhill
Horseback Riding - Several rides and activities
to choose from. Most depart from the Princeville area about 25 minutes north
Camping - For some real outback camping,
try the Kalalau trail. Be sure to get a permit for overnight camping.
This trip is not for the faint-hearted.
Bird Watching - At Kauai Beach Villas
around the fresh water lagoon or on one of over 70 documented trails
on Kauai
Photography - Kauai boasts some of the most beautiful
scenery in the world. Bring lots of film. It's no wonder that the second biggest
industry behind tourism is the movie industry
Snuba - Scuba without tanks,
it's easy to learn and fun
Sightseeing - Probably the best of all.
Kauai is so gorgeous you will fall in love. Napali has been called
the most beautiful stretch of tropical shoreline in the world. There is everything on the island from the
semi-arid beaches of the west, to the 450 plus inches of rain on Mount Waialeale. For more information
